Martin's 54 is back on the road again, this time with a complete nut and blot restoration. Painted in a great looking VW Silver this is one nice ride! 235 0.40 over, Clifford Cam, lifters and pushrods. Hard seats in the head, new valves with Clifford springs and retainers.
The head has been milled and mildly ported running tube headers, 3 x 1 carbs. 4 speed with a Hone 30% O.D. This is a 1950 Chevrolet 1/2 Ton 3100 series Truck. Martinius has owned it since May 2007. Martinius is looking forward to replaceing the 216 with a 235, adding dual carbs and upgrade the exhaust. Allen uses a Clifford Cam and puts the power to the rear wheels via a 67 Wide Ratio 4 Spd. With twin Carter W1 carbs on an Edmonds intake and Fenton headers, this ride looks and runs great! Don has done a beautiful job with this Canadian Pontiac! Don has added 3 Holley Weber carbs, Fenton headers, Offy Intake and Valvecover and a Stovebolt "mini" HEI to his 261. This sharp looking pick up has a 3 coat Candy Apple paint with gold undertone. Bumpers and grill are powdercoated bright aluminum with clear coat. Chris finds the LEDs he has used serve great as running lights, stop lights and tail lights....great for rainy, foggy Oregon nights. (see other pics) Chris' original 228 Jimmy was bored out to take 270 pistons for a final displacement of 257 cu.in. It is equipped with a vintage Nicson dual intake and Carter carbs. Iginition by Pertronix and headers by Clifford. The Transmission is a T-5 from an '80's S10. This bed is made of South American hardwood called "Ipe". Chris finished it with 6 coats of spar varnish on both sides. Bill's '50 Chevy has a original look both outside, interior and under the hood. Bill's Chevy has a traditional Offy dual carb intake with 2 Rochester 1 barrel carbs and '50's styled louvered air cleaners. Les' '55 has the originial 235 with 3 speed manual tranmission. Upgrades include power rack & pinion steering, Hurst floor shifter and Stovebolt "mini" HEI. This car has been in his wife's family since 1956. Mike's '66 pickup has the originial 250 6 cylinder engine and 3 speed transmission. This sharp looking '51 Chevy 1/2 ton is owned by Gwyn Bontrager in Shipshewana, IN. It is pretty much stock with the exception of a '74 Pontiac 250, 350 turbo trans and upgraded to 12 volts. The spotlight and fog lights are factory. She has been converted to 12 volt, and plans are underway to build a triple carb intake with chromed oil baths. The Lil Darlin' originated in Abilene, Texas, but now makes the car show circuits in and around Cheyenne, Wyoming. Originally purchased from a dealership in Gonxales Ca. It has been brought back to life by Steve Cochran. The truck is running a 1956 235 and most everything else is original! My "Lil Darlin" has 60k original miles on its engine, and runs an almost stock 235 stovebolt. The exhaust manifold has been split to run dual glasspacks (not turbos). She has been converted to 12 volt, and plans are underway to build a triple carb intake with chromed oil baths. The Lil Darlin' originated in Abilene, Texas, but now makes the car show circuits in and around Cheyenne, Wyoming. Jays 53 is running a 270 GMC bored 60 over topped with a GMC 302 ported and polished head using 194 - 202 valves. Running one of Stovebolts Supercharger manifolds with a polished 471 GM supercharger! Behind all this power is a 700R4 Transmission, final drive comes from a ford 9". Aiming all of this raw power down the road is a Mustang front end. Body mods are numoris, but as you can see the front end has been shaved, sectioned, twicked and filled! This car turns heads every where it go's (not to metion a few traffic jams) and you wouldn't want to be showing aginst him. This 1954 straight 6 Chevy has won 1996 NZ national champion; 3rd in custom class at the national Hotrod show This 1954 straight 6 Chevy has won 1996 NZ national champion; 3rd in custom class at the national Hotrod show Octavio Preciado lives in Empire California. His 1954 Belair with a 230 has a turbo 350 factory front end. It's has three carbs and split factory manifold with flowmaster mufflers The car is a 4 door sedan. I received it when I was 12 from my dad. My Father had bought it for $50 from a farmer whos field it had been sitting in. The restoration has taken me 5 years to do. The Vehicle has 78K miles, the original 235 has been rebuilt completely and converted to run unleaded gas. this beauty has the powerglide, factory power steering and brakes. All the components in the in the suspension and brakes are new. For flavor this '54 has bucket seats from a chevy celebrity eurosport, and american racing wire wheels. Keith Willis traded an '88 Chevy S10 for this 1954 Chevy Handyman wagon. He drove it home with the three on the tree, top speed about 45 mph. After doing alot of research he decided to keep the 235 inliner. Keith says, "Thanks to Langdon's Stovebolt for the adapter and working with Lukes Transmission in Riverside, CA for making the installation of my 700R4 painless." Other upgrades included changing the closed drive line/rearend to a 4link with air bags and he also bolted a 1991 Chevy S10 4 x 4 rear end up to it (it was a perfect fit). In the front he added Nifty Fifty dropped spindles. The rims are B. Coddington 215/45.17 on 7 x 17 front, 255/45/17 on 8 x 17 rear. His next project is to bag the original front end. If you have any questions or suggestions email them to ktwillis@lvcm.com Thanks for letting us share your story Keith! This Joel's 1950 ¾ ton (factory rated 1 ton). His daughter calls it "The Mighty Beast". Joel took out the "tired" 216 and put in '62 "235" which is "essentially" stock except for a 2 barrel carburetor. Joel plans on installing a 302 6 cyl. G.M.C. which he just purchased. He's hoping for a little more "grunt." Sporting 36x12.5x16.5 tires on 6" Chevy rims in the rear in order to "cruse" @ 2,800 RPM at 60 mph. It presently has 869,00 miles (on the original never-touched differential). The current transmission is a Saginaw from a '69 Camaro. Joel got the truck from his brother who had it >20 years and knew the original owner. He is proud of this because he can varafy that the milage is accurate. So far it has cost roughly $3,500 (not counting the "302") to get it into its present shape a (paint, upholstery, etc.). It's a "daily" driver!
